IDEA StatiCa v24 - Concrete 3D Detail BETA features presentation

Version 24 of IDEA StatiCa features many great improvements related to concrete! Many users are also curious to learn more about the BETA features related to concrete in this release. Check out our presentation and demo of what’s new! (OBS: It’s BETA in v24.0)

What will you learn?

Theory: 3D CSFM and Concrete Behavior

What is 3D CSFM? The 3D Compatible Stress Field Method (CSFM) extends the established 2D CSFM into three dimensions, offering a fast and code-compliant solution for complex concrete structure details.

It is based on Mohr-Coulomb plasticity theory and evaluates principal concrete stresses in compression and reinforcement stresses at cracks, neglecting concrete tensile strength except for its stiffening effect on reinforcing.

Limitations: 3D CSFM is unsuitable for plain concrete due to the absence of tension, which can lead to misleading deformation and model divergence.

Demos

Watch the video where we cover theory in more detail and give several demos to cover the following abilities in IDEA StatiCa 3D DETAIL (beta) in v24.0:

The ability to design Footings and Walls using 3D model type in IDEA StatiCa Detail. This allows you to structurally design footings and walls loaded out of the plane and see their real behavior!

Analyze wall members subjected to general load. IDEA StatiCa Detail (3D Beta) allows you to to assess and analyze out-of-plane stressed walls and for models consisting of different wall thicknesses.

The solution represents an ideal compromise between an accurate solution using nonlinear methods but still simple modeling and calculation time!

Connection and 3D Detail. Integrate the connection application with 3D detail for detailed concrete checks. Export results from the steel connection application to the concrete detail application for further analysis.

OBS: These functionalities are in BETA and early access, as verifications are still ongoing, but if you are in the target group you should check it out!
